Our Team
Message from our Dean
The Caribbean Procurement Training Programme (CPTP) was established through a partnership between the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech).
Through this partnership which commenced with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in January 2016, UTech has been positioned to deliver the much-needed regional training in Procurement leading to a globally recognized certification. As the region combats various risks associated with procurement such as fraud, corruption, and inefficient processes to name just a few, the need to have well-qualified and well-trained procurement professionals is imperative.
The CPTP affords UTech the opportunity to contribute to sound procurement governance in the region and the College of Business and Management is committed to making this a reality. Our commitment to our stakeholders is to provide qualified trainers and facilitators who are not just experts in the area but are highly professional and deeply student centric in approach.
We are committed to developing strong leaders who are ethically sound to chart a new paradigm in procurement governance in the region.

"To be the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for procurement in the Caribbean Region"
Message from our Sponsor
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), in collaboration with the World Bank, financed the establishment of the Caribbean Procurement Training Programme (CPTP) and since 2017 has sponsored more than 67 students to attend certified procurement training at CPTP.
This training plays an important role in professionalising public procurement in the Caribbean and is essential in providing officials in CDB’s borrowing member countries with the necessary qualifications to reform and manage the modern public procurement system.
This in turn allows countries to achieve better value for money from scarce public funds, while enhancing sustainability and upholding the highest standards of integrity, to ensure appropriate services and infrastructure are available to citizens.
